/The Why

/The Why

Since childhood, I’ve had more interests than fingers to count them on. Creativity has always been my core, constantly shaped by curiosity, exploration, and a desire to try everything at least once. While the world often labels that as being “a jack of all trades,” I see it differently.

XV Designs was born from the idea of reclaiming that narrative.

“Jack of all trades” doesn’t mean unfocused, it means fearless. It’s about being open to stretching, exploring, and evolving. That mindset shapes who I am as a designer: someone who embraces variety, learns by doing, and builds a creative practice that doesn’t belong in just one box.

So, I gave Jack a redesign.

The Jack icon in my logo captures that spirit, a symbol of versatility and possibility. Paired with a color palette that breaks from the usual narrative and layered with my personal identity, the result is a visual language that blends retro charm with modern clarity.

Bold color combos (orange, yellow, blue)

Geometric forms and modern minimalism

I wanted a look that felt nostalgic but fresh, like something that could live in both the 1970s and on a 2025 portfolio site.

Design Process

A sneak into my messy and iterative process fueled by exploration, intentional design, and a whole lot of sketching, testing, and rethinking:

Sketches & Typographic Exploration: Played with logotype forms of “Tanvi,” “Tan-V,” “10V,” and “XV.”

Color Selection: Chose yellow and orange for positivity, blue for comfort and security; hence building trust and confidence.

Shape System: Used a vintage-style oval container for a timeless, structured feel.

Final Touch: A bold sans-serif logotype with the playful Jack face sealed the deal.

Visually, XV Designs draws from retro influences, vintage logos, bold typography, and a geometric oval, but reimagined through a modern, minimal lens.

It’s bold but minimal, playful but professional, and full of meaning, just like the work I want to put into the world.

And most importantly, it's built to grow with me, wherever creativity takes me next.
